ABOUT ME

Sandra grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon, also known as the Land of the Midnight Sun. Inspired by natural beauty and isolation, she expresses herself through poetry writing, painting, drawing, and song writing.

One of her biggest inspirations was her Grade Eight English teacher who taught her how to listen very closely to lyrics. The assignment was to analyze the song and investigate the true meaning behind the words. Many years of practice and playing with words inspired her to write singsong poetry and to teach her children nursery rhymes as well. She also had a passion for Classic Rock and felt very inspired by artists such as Paul McCartney and Elton John.

Sandra has excellent command of the English language and edits her own work. She completed Creative Writing and Native Literature in 1998 as a side course with Office Administration. Her specialties are writing manuals and desktop publishing and she has a desire to branch out and write novels or short stories.

You can find Sandra doing a multitude of things these days, like spoiling her grand children, travelling and writing. Besides writing, she has a talent for many other art forms such as singing, song writing, painting, drawing and partaking in her favourite activity, Karaoke.

Sandra looks forward to publishing her next book and producing her next song “It’s My World Too”. The lyrics can be found in Chapter 10 – Songs.
